R&B pop songstress SH3 embraces the strange and eclectic in her visual for her latest single “Stranger Things” — available now!

“Stranger Things” is the second single of her project, “H2 Zoom Voicenotes” following the release of “Gelato”, which has reached 175,000 views on YouTube since it’s release in July and is still counting!

“The making of this video has been quite a journey,” SH3 — pronounced ‘she’ — explains. “We shot this video during the summer of 2019 and it took until now where I feel it’s ready to share with the world.”

The title of the song shares the same name as the hit Netflix series, and that is of no coincidence. “When I heard the beat by ProdByBeatcoins & NdroiDBeats, the main synth reminded me so much of the theme for Stranger Things, I thought to myself how cool it would be to write a song inspired by the show. I’m a super fan, which goes without saying.” SH3 smiles.

The concept for the music video is Myrtle Manor, meets 90s nostalgia mixed with tributes to the Netflix series. For example, the coat SH3 wears covered in lights pays homage to the iconic Christmas lights featured in Season 1. “I hand-made that jacket,” confesses SH3, “not the jacket itself of course, but I attached battery powered lights to the fabric as an ode to the show.”

Not only did SH3 create the illuminating number, but she styled all her looks for this video. “I had a very clear vision of what I wanted to look like and what I wanted to wear. I’m such a DIY lover, and it was so much fun to brainstorm looks. My favourite piece has to be the fluffy trim robe. It just screams extravagance! When it came to the looks of the girls, that was fun to brainstorm as well. We suggested one of the girls should wear a mask (which she does) and we would never have guessed in the next year, masks would be part of our daily lives. Watching the video now you might think it was shot in 2020.”

The video was directed by Colin Mercer from Suntola Productions with the help of cinematographer Alex Lieu. She expresses much gratitude to everyone involved including her friends who made cameos and helped her with location. “Three of my closest friends are in this video which makes it that much more special to me. To have them involved and join me in my wacky ideas means the world!” SH3 continues, “Another friend of mine really came through with the location. I knew I wanted the video to center around a pool, and after researching possible Airbnb rentals a friend of mine offered her backyard which has a large above-ground pool. The aesthetic was perfect and I am forever grateful we were able to use it!”
